ah, yes, a sinister little file that we hardly even touch and often
forget about, even if we knew about it. I bet you'll be ok now.
It does have its uses however, which are, hhmm, most useful to understand.
Such as the fellow in here last week who was trying to test Imail on
his LAN without yet a DNS to work with. By setting up all his
machines' hosts files to resolve Imail's host/ip, he should have
been able to test Imail.
Or, when you have a www server that you don't want to put in DNS.
