>Could someone send me a copy of a dns record for a zone.
which record, here are few:
@ soa ns1.domain.com. ns-admin.domain.com. ( 5 numbers )
@ NS ns1.domain.com.
@ NS ns2.domain.com.
@ MX 10 mail.domain.com.
@ A ip.ad.re.ss
www A ip.ad.re.ss
mail A ip.ad.re.ss
ftp A ip.ad.re.ss
>I have to figure out why this error still occurs here.
yep
>I've said before that we have run for over two years without the
>first DNS errors. Zones are set up the same way they were always
>set up and still I am geting this error and more frequently than
>ever... (IS there any printed material on just this error anywhere?)
what you have is broken, so copy the zone elsewhere and start modifying.
remove all CNAME's a no-brainer, replacing with A's.
is your hint file, the root-servers, ok?
Look at your ip settings carefully.
Look up here: http://www.acmebw.com/askmr.htm
go to www.google.Com and search for "addressed to itself", lotsa
hits. You're not a pioneer.
Send me the domain name privately and I'll check it out.
