Gerald,
You did not give much to go on (like hostname/ip of computer running IMail,
domain in question, one of the user names), so it will have to be a pretty
generic answer.
First, can a user send email to himself? If yes, then to another user in
that domain? If this works, then IMail is probably OK. If your problem is
sending to outside world, then that usually means that IMail is not getting
needed information from DNS, to complete the delivery (log files showing an
attempt and any errors will help!). Make sure the SMTP tab has the IP of a
working (tested!) DNS. If you don't have your own DNS, then use the one your
ISP provides (contact them to find it and get permission to use, if you
don't already).
BTW, for the tests above, use the IMail Client in the IMail group (or Web
Messaging, if running and you know something about using it). Select the
Domain and User from the drop down lists and do _not_ fill out anything in
the POP3 section. Click OK (gets you into the account) and then Send (to
compose). After success, use it again to send to your old server or outside
account. If that works, then the error messsage you gave (from your email
client?) is problably less than complete and you may have either a client
(more likely) or server (Relay settings? Set to 'Anyone' for now, stop/start
SMTP service if any changes made) configuration problem.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Imail Migration
Hello,
I'm a network administratior having trouble with Imail server 5.06. We have
multiple mail accounts setup on a remote machine and we are hoping to
transfer those accounts to another remote machine. We have the mail server
already installed on the new machine but the problem is sending mail from
the new machine. I have established only three accounts and try to send
messages to myself from the mail server account from the mail server account
on the new machine to the account I currently have on the old one. Each time
I try this I get an error message from the postmaster stating that the
sender is an unknown user. If anyone has a solution to this problem or to
have a more delailed explination, please write me.
Thanks
Gerald Coleman
