It appears from the release notes of v6.05 that it will not create the
folder if it does not already exist.  So if you had a user "joe-smith", and
they did not have a mailbox "smith", it would deliver (presumably) to
joe-smith.  You would need to test it to make sure that it didn't just
reject the message, still thinking that it was for joe.

The Knowledge Base explains a way to change the hyphen to something else,
but note the drawbacks to doing so:
