If the List was made 'Private' (Disallow Subscriptions), no one can
subscribe, users have to be added by the admin and his editing of files!

What is the message you are sending to subscribe and to what email address
are you sending it? I bet you are sending to the 'listname' when you should
be sending to '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'!
