Did you get any response from ipswitch regarding this problem. I am experiencing the
same problem with Eudora Clients.

Followup on this patch upgrade problem................
This patch seems to break Eudora 5.x, 4.3x, 4.2x. It works with 4.1. From
what I can tell under 5.x Eudora the Imail Server was not getting a valid
CRAM MD5 authentication. Even though the address I am using was in the
realy for addresses list, it still was asking for authentication which
Eudora 5 supplied but it failed to authenticate.
So, I would be very careful with this upgrade. I will report this stuff to
IPSWITCH in the morning and maybe they can work it out.
