JMH,

Nothing 'curious' about this! IMail (or any email server) does not construct
the email message (the email client does) and that means it does not make
any modifications to the email (except the reverse path in the header, per
RFC) message.

With any email client, I can make my return address anything I want! Of
course, to post to this list it must match the address I used to subscribe,
so I cannot show you.

I'm not sure why you think this is a security risk. 'Intranet' is not an
uncommon term and I'm sure it is not a valid domain or hostname (it is
incomplete!), so the mail is unlikely to be directed to the wrong user or
host. Any email with that as a return address, just would still reach its
destination but any replies would bounce back to the sender (replier). BTW,
not much about email is 'secure' unless you use encryption, like PGP. And
that would have no effect on the header info (where the address info is
stored) or the email could not be sent.
