I never got a very clear idea from Ipswitch whether a hostname in the
field "send all mail through a gateway" is looked up for an A record
(no fallback) or MX (with fallback).
I'd much prefer to put a list of ip's in there so Imail wouldn't have
to do DNS lookups at all, but Imail says only one ip is used. Maybe
6.05 is improved here, since Ipswitch did get into the Imail outgoing
gateway code for 6.05 to fix reduce the retry time per batch of 5
mails sent to one destination and decouple relaying output from
gateway output. I guess Bob Stull would be the best guy to know
about this fairly obscure issue (obscure for non-IMGate users).
