Thanks all for your help,
have sorted it ok now. It turns out that when sending mail to "main domain"
I had set it up as "machine name.domain name.co.uk" All I had to do was to
put the
actual domain name, less machine name into the "alias".
So it now reads:
Primary host= mail.domain.co.uk
alias = domain.co.uk
