hi,

I'm looking to purchase iMail.

I would like to check whether iMail is
good for the following scenario:

- many domains (maybe 5,000-10,000)
- many users (prob. 100,000 users)

Where can iMail store its
Domain data, and Users data?

I need the mail server to scale, and I find
MS Access too fragile for my comfort.
Currently, using Mailmax, but not comfortable
with their MS-Access backend - too fragile.
plus they store their messages references in
the MDB file - makes it bloated real fast.

Hopefully, I don't need to use MS SQL (too
over-kill)... prob. something like MSDE
or some other robust system will do.
Does IMail store the settings in the
NT registry, 'cos NT registry can get
quite bloated.

Is iMail a good idea for a small-sized to mid-sized
ISP (about 100,000 users) on 5000-10,000 domains?

I need to use CGI/Perl to maintain the domains/users
database - is this difficult with iMail?

Most users will be on web-based email.

I'd appreciate if current users can give some
honest inputs with regards to this.

thanks & best regards,
John
