that's way more complicated than we can do :)
we don't run any database apps here so accessing one would mean writing all
the stuff from scratch.
The mail server is not under my control.
We use O2K as our mail client... and it chokes on the volume :/

Sorry I guess I didn't make myself clear, we e-mail out a weekly newsletter
to thousands of people via a ASP script, it uses our mail server to send
them out. But since our users are data based, via a ASP script they can had
or remove themselves from the mailing list. Then we have a ASP page that
can e-mail out all our customers that reside in the database. That way we
don't have to worry about an uploading a user.lst to the IMAIL server. Just
using a simple SQL statement we pull the users out of the database, and then
send out our weekly mailer.

First of all.. what??
It's getting the message to folks. For that I need to MAIL them.
A lot of these folks don't even know they are going to get the mail...no its
not SPAM..
So I have to send them a message anyway..
and email is the way of choice... 'cause I am NOT making 20k phone calls :")

Why even use IMAIL on something that big. Why don't you just write a
dynamic page (using ASP, PHP, CGI, ColdFusion) to do it directly from your
database file. We do that all the time for our customers.

I think that's it.. Just upload a text file named USERS.LST?
How do I tell the list server to use that file specifically?
note: I do not have "physical" access to the box. I have to send files by
email to the box admin.
Thanks again

I'm not sure if this is what you meant, but I'm sure someone will enjoy
