Patti,

Sorry, I though you were talking about moving IMail from one machine to
another.

Since other mail servers use different forms of the message store, 'moving'
old email can sometimes be the worst part of a migration. In a case like
this, I would enlist the help of your users. Keep both systems online and
have the user login to the old server and forward the email to their new
accounts. Plan to shut down the old server in a few days and warn the users
that if they don't move their old email, it will 'go away'. Or use the IMail
Client (select domain name and username from drop down lists) on the server,
to connect to the old server and one user account (you will need username
and password!) and download (set POP3 section to 'Delete Host Mail') the
email from the old machine, which will put the messages into that users
folder on the IMail machine.

I like the first, because each person takes care of his own (and decides
which message will be kept) and what is left (those away from the office or
who cannot do the work) is usually modest and then you can help them or do
it yourself.

Daniel Donnelly
