Thanks for the help. That is what I did first. Then I sarted getting errors
saying that mail canot be delivered because the desination domain is not
local (this started after I configured SMTP relay restrictions based on IP
ragnes). Now I wentback and took the primary for the domain off the
peerlist. Now I don't have messages queing for the peer and the subsequent
unknown user, but the message to the effect domain is not local. What am I
doing wrong? Thanks.

nope, you didn't RTFM. the backed up domain is only to be listed in
Win32 hosts file and its ip in "relay for addresses".

Imail thinks the mail is for a local domain

yep, Imail can't find the account in the list of peer servers.
