Hate to be a pain, but I've looked in the manual, and find unrelated things
in the KB. Could I perhaps get a fuller explaination for a newbie ?

That's correct, Imail is refusing to relay, your relay is closed ...
... UNLESS the sender does SMTP AUTH to be treated as a local user.
You also have to put this default domain name in the Imail machine's
hosts file. It's in the manual and KB.
