Howdy,
We use that exact setup--"no relay" and "server requires authentication" in
Outlook--and it works like a charm, with a couple caveats.
One, some ISPs close access to port 25 as an anti-spam measure. This was an
issue with our traveling salesmen who use dial-up access on the road but
want to send mail through the company server rather than the ISP server.
Two, if IMail is behind a firewall, port 25 needs to be open to the extended
SMTP command set for authentication to take place. See the knowledge base,
