Sound our NT tcp/ip is screwed up.

Check you tcp/ip settings: ip addresses, DNS address, default router, 
protocol/NIC bindings. Also check the DNS address in Imail.

What's in the imail logs?

Can you ping from the NT machine to elsewhere?

What's ipstat show?

It the NT tcp/ip is screwed up, you may have to uninstall and 
re-install NT networking, and then the service pack again.
