[IMail Forum] Spool Directory

hi everyone i've got a question:
    I deleted all the items in the spool directory last nite, was
looking around in knowledge base and thought it might stop some of my
lockups and it did however now not 8hrs. later i have 88MB of stuff in
the folder and explorer won't open it there is some 175,000 files in
there.  Why i am i getting those and why are the building up so fast? I
had to leave my mail server off line for a while yesterday do to some
server problems but now its all fixed.  Are theese files just like email
in que?  If anyone has any info please let me know.
