Which is exactly what I found was happening here last weekend..... Same
symptoms, but all answering to one ip 24.216.191.16, who managed to drop
about 150,000 mails on me over two and a half days. No more open relays in
the spirit of a free internet...

is you log file also growing very fast?
you�re probably getting relay hijacked, mail bombed, or otherwise trashed.
