As far as equipment requirements go I have a dual p3 800 1 gb of ram and 120 gb 
harddrive and my images don't always serve up right so I think it is more in the 
processing of the html itself.  IIS will time out on images with heavy loads sometimes 
but it is more up in the 10,000 simutaneous hits range.
