Upon seeing the message text, I thought 'It does not look like and IMail
error message' so I checked the hostname in DNS (smtpmail.globalnet.co.uk,
there are 4 IPs) and then connected on port 25 using the hostname and I get:
220 sand7.global.net.uk ESMTP Exim 3.22 #1 Mon, 04 Jun 2001 22:35:24 +0100
Which confirms my initial suspicion!
Just for grins, I tried the other hostname (mail.globalnet.co.uk, 2 IPs) and
the connection failed.
Conclusion: the user did not connect to an IMail Server, so it is not an
IMail error message or setting.
The error message indicates that the server that answered would not allow
relaying to the recipient address. An open relay would have accepted the
message (generally!). There are other possibilities that could keep that
server from allowing the relay (ORBS or other 'spam' related service).
