Mike,
Yes, it is a Winsock error!
I'd still suggest trying a different NIC, too. If you have one you can try,
and you get good results, then you have something to hang your hat on when
you talk to MS and Intel. If the problem is a repeatable as you seem to
indicate, you should know pretty fast!
Some of the info I have heard, has shown problems only when connecting from
certain hosts or to certain accounts. Some reported the IMail server
restarting or BSD or other OS related errors. Almost all were 'fixed' by
using an different NIC (I've seen 3com recommended as the 'gold' standard).
If it is an account that causes the problem, then that might mean some
problem with the mailbox (move the main.mbx to some other location and
delete other main.* files and see if that helps).
Again, I'm not sure that the NIC/driver is the problem, but it has that kind
of 'feel' to me!
