I know this is a little late but maybe in the next version.....

Managing the lists on Imail is a pain. We run all the common types of lists,
AllStudents / AllStaff and we also have lists for each faculty, each year
group of students and then all the specialty lists.

Each list has a subscribers list and an allowed posters list. The problem is
remembering which lists people belong to when removing their accounts. If
they leave not only do I need to remember which lists they belong to apart
from the obvious ones but they need to be removed from both the subscribers
list and the allowed posters list.

This makes for a lot of extra admin work. At the moment I handle this by
having all users in a database. When I delete a user account I remove also
the database entry, then export the database to a text file. This can then
be used to paste overtop of the subscribers and posters lists.

We used to run a Macintosh Mail server here and I have to say that the admin
of lists was far easier than this. Lists were treated as groups. Each users
account had a groups window. I could drag a list to the window and they were
subscribed. Subsequently if I deleted their account they were also removed
from the list. Admin was so simple!

Surely this sort of thing could be done in Imail as well. There could be an
extra tab on the user account window for lists. Each line in the window
could have a subscribed section and a allowed posters section. You could
drag the list name to the subscribers field and tick the allowed posters
field if they were also allowed to post. When a user is deleted they would
also be removed from the lists.

I would be very interested in knowing how others handle this or if there is
a utility to do this job but at this stage the database seems the easiest.
