I need to use more restraint when I send an email like that.
Let me provide the coincidences:
Last night I received a frantic call from a new customer. He had expected
things to take a few days with Network Solutions but they made the domain
updates almost immediately. Of course, he had yet to move files and setup
email accounts. So we helped him get that straight.
This morning, since there were no alarms on the list, I installed the
Hotfix2 patch to the server. Not two minutes after doing so I received
another frantic call from the same customer that no one could receive
emails. Since we've had so many problems with V 7.0X, I assumed this was the
problem.
It has something to do with the former ISP who was not very happy about
losing 29 domain accounts to us. I'm not sure what they've done yet but it
will be interesting to find out. All emails sent to these domains get
returned with a no relaying message:
"relaying mail to yourdomain.com is not allowed"
I am very sorry for scaring everyone but when something like this happens
you want to let others know ASAP.
Bill
