As long as your within local legal parameters, your fine. On the spousal
murder case, her employers (she worked at a lawyers office) technically have
the right to gather and retain copies of the Email in her company account.
They did turn over copies of everything on her office computer and the
police impounded her personal computer as evidence. Incriminating files
were found on the home computer I understand, however there is even some
question about the legality of that as she says they were correspondence
between her and her lawyer. That though is a matter of attorney-client
privilege and not a matter for this forum.
