I've seen
the problem where there was definitely no mailbox with ".mbx" in the name. The
original "sent.mbx.mbx" box is very likely created by the bug, too, since nobody
would ever name a mailbox that on purpose.

This happens when ".mbx" is anywhere in the mailbox name
(except for the extension of course). Renaming the original (sent.mbx.mbx in
your case) to something like "sent.mbx" will fix the problem.

Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Strange
problems with tons of mailbxes being created.
Ben,
We've
seen that sporadically, too (less since upgrading from 7.01), and hoping
it's not something our custom templates were doing. What templates are you
running?

Hello
all,
I'm writing to
this list because I've tried several times to work through IPSwitch's
support to no avail. I am running Imail 7.02 using an external DB
for authentication.
I'm having a
very weird problem where tons and tons of folders are created based on an
existing maiblox. For instance copies of a user's mailbox are
created for the mailbox Sent. So I'll have mailboxes like the
following:
Sent.mbx.l.uid.mbx
Sent.mbx.l.uid.uid.mbx
Sent.mbx.l.uid.uid.uid.uid.mbx
Sent.mbx.l.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.mbx
Sent.mbx.l.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.mbx
Sent.mbx.l.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.mbx
Sent.mbx.l.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.mbx
Sent.mbx.l.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.mbx
Sent.mbx.l.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.mbx
Sent.mbx.l.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.mbx
Sent.mbx.l.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.mbx
Sent.mbx.l.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.mbx
Sent.mbx.l.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.mbx
Sent.mbx.l.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.mbx
Sent.mbx.l.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.mbx
Sent.mbx.l.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.uid.mbx
And of course each mbx has a correspond
uid. The mailboxes are all 0k and can be deleted at any time.
It appears as though the creation of these mailboxes is tied to logins
using webmessaging.
I've tried all sorts of things to halt the
creation of these things. I've moved all of the messages out of the
mailboxes, deleted the mailbox and then recreated the mailbox and moved
the messages back in. I've tried renaming the mailbox and
creating a new mailbox and still have the
problems.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Anyone have this problem before?
Thanks
Ben
