The "250" code means that AOL accepted your "EHLO" command. They are
accepting responsibility for delivering the E-mail or bouncing it. If they
later do delete it, they are also taking responsibility for that. So you
are not doing anything wrong here, AOL is.
The "peer name unknown" is AOL's own message they made up. You can only
guess as to what they mean by it. However, with the "250" code, AOL is
continuing the session normally.
