From what I've heard, it sounds like Ipswitch doesn't have any plans to
make IMail incompatible with Declude. If they do, they will also likely
make some other addons incompatible in the process, which would hurt them
even more. And it would make them look very bad. I can't imagine that
they would do it.
But, even if they do, that won't necessarily be a problem. First, you
could continue running the latest version of IMail (Declude works with
IMail 5.x through 7.04, and most likely higher). Second, we wouldn't sit
around and let them do that -- we would likely come up with a version of
Declude that would work with IMail (we could likely come up with something
by the time a "watered down" IMail made it to the "OK, everyone feels
comfortable running it now" stage).
