the message below is all i have. This is the message which is returned by
the recipients postmaster (with all headers). I know how a regular bounce
message looks like. If i do not delete the users.lst file, i never see a
message in the list-owners mailbox. This message comes back to the list, not
to the list owner!
It seems to me that their mail server is not correctly configured, it looks
like a mail mirror, which returns the message without the usual headers of a
bounce message. The problem seems to be, that there is no From: in the
returned message except the FROM: of my original posting. Imail sees this
From: and accepts the message because its the address of the list-owner.
I don?t think it is a problem of Imails listserver, it is a problem of the
bounce message of the recipients mail server. Imail sees the From: in this
message, which is "Heinrich Richter" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, and sends the
message again to the list. The only problem i can see from Imail side is,
that the relay options do not work for lists. I have set up imail for relay
for addresses only, but the list server ignores this. It seems that
everybody, who claims to be [EMAIL PROTECTED] can post to the list.
I have posted this problem only, because another member of this list had a
similar problem, where messages to a list are sent multiple times.
i have spent a lot of time to figure out why this can happen. I have tracked
down the problem to this specific address (they are no longer getting mails
from our mailing list).
We have no static mailing lists (we generate the users.lst from our customer
database), sometimes everything works without problems, sometimes we had the
multiple mails problem.
We have defined a procedure for our list administrators:
- we send out mailings in smaller portions (about 300-500)
- after posting to the list they have to delete the users.lst
This is not very convient, but at least it works for us.
Article rejected! There are no subscribers to the list. (Users.lst file yet
to be created.)

The message you attached have no Return-Path:, which is curious (look
at this message's source to see what I mean), but nonetheless, they're
not quite what we need to look at.
What I'd like to see is the entire "bounce message that went to the
list" scenario you're postulating, meaning that you'll have to find
such a bounce message so we can look at the headers.
