OK...I got slightly burned by the wording in the manual. I assumed when the feature list for Private Lists said "only the list administrator can add people to the list" that it meant the list OWNER could send subscribe/unsubscribe commands to the list server and add/remove users. WRONG! I finally realized that the list ADMINISTRATOR was not the same as the OWNER.
I'm trying to figure out a simple way to allow this functionality. I have IMail 7.05HF1 on an NT4 machine, using the NT domain database. I have a couple really small, low traffic lists that we run for people outside our organization. They want the ability to add/remove addresses. A normal listserver would allow the list owner to do this via email requests. IMail does not. I do not want to give these outside people accounts in our NT domain so they can log in via webmail and manage their lists. I also do not want to buy/build/maintain a separate listserv box (Windows/$$ or Linux/free) for a few small non-local lists. Anyone have any ideas to let a non-local list owner add/remove subscribers via email? Thanks!!!! --Todd. Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
