I actually may use a combination of both, the problem is that when I use
ColdFusion it needs to be able to connect to the mail server and relay, but
once I enable the security to relay for my ipaddress I can't tell it to
verify the person by the user. How does Imail verify who the user is,
couldn't I potentially make up some [EMAIL PROTECTED] and go from there.
I just want to be able to send from my computer again without having to log
on to the web interface.

Huh? IMail SMTP is about as secure as you can get. Please elaborate.

>can IMAIL use Microsoft built in SMTP if the SMTP server is shut down.

You could have IMail running on a different port, and have Microsoft send
to it. But I can't think of any reason to do that.

>You can configure a lot more security on Microsoft's SMTP

Huh? Again, I'm not sure what you mean here. Microsoft is notorious for
security flaws. They probably have lots of security features like "Do you
want to use feature X, or do you want to be safe and disable it?". There
are no known security flaws with the latest version of IMail.
