Sounds like that's a problem with your system if it locks up. I'll gladly
submit to a courtesy issue, but it sounds mostly like its courteous because
of technological shortfalls and not because it offends anyone, like typing
in all caps. Just my $.02 Take it or leave it. (OK, leave it)

:-)

Also, the system freezes while an attempt is made to verify the signature.

If there is a problem with the signature, such as that of Scott D Wilson's,
the system stays locked up and it keeps trying to verify the signature.

In the case of Scott's, I had to write a temporary rule to search all
messages so as to delete the message because the signature could not be
verified.

1. They cause problems with some mail clients, Palms and WinCE/PocketPC
devices. 2. They cause problems for Digest users. 3. And mostly it is
considered bad etiquette to do so on lists, just like HTML(see #'s 1&2) and
ALL CAPS.

Digital signatures are fine for personal one on one emails where needed. But
a list is not the place for them.
