They cause Outlook Express (at the very least) to completely lock up while
it sees if the signature is valid. Apparently the DOD (that's who allegedly
issued the ID we're talking about right now) doesn't get IDs issued by any
of the major vendors and so I pause pause pause as I try to quickly read
though the 150 emails that are sitting in my imail-support folder on my mail
server. Plus the signature wastes bandwidth (much like this explanation
does) because we all do not care if you are who you say you are. This isn't
a personal email.. it's a mail list. A signature added to every email is
just an all around waste in this context.
