Well, I had set our SMTP Mail Relay option to "Relay for local hosts only". Yep... Got blackholed by ORBZ. I've done the research and seen the postings here. The general consensus is, use "No Mail Relay" and require SMTP AUTH on our mail clients. Fair enough -- I'll have to reconfigure about 150 mail clients, but it's doable. The problem is, we have a ColdFusion server that must send mail through this server, and the CFMAIL tag does not have username/password attributes. What I need is the ability to use SMTP AUTH *or* allow my ColdFusion server's IP address -- I think. Unless there's another way. How can I stay off the spam lists, but still allow JUST my ColdFusion server to send mail through this iMail server without authenticating, AND require our actual mail clients to authenticate? No, we can't know the IP addresses of the mail clients. Other settings that you guys might comment upon while pondering this... checked -- allow remote mail to local groups checked -- allow remote view of local groups checked -- refuse NULL <> Senders checked -- check valid sender checked -- auto-deny possible hack attempts NOT checked -- disable SMTP "VRFY" command NOT checked -- disable SMTP "AUTH" reporting Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
