R. Scott Perry, THANK YOU. Your response was consise and accurate without having to swing a dead cat over my head and say a chant. I have configured all IP addresses on our servers to be allowed without SMTP Auth; all mail clients will be configured to send AUTH info when sending mail. A little inconvenience in having to support all our mail client changes balanced against the big inconvenience of being blacklisted and relayed to death by the spammers who discover us. Your help was much appreciated!
Another question... is there any way to get the SysLog service to put the log files somewhere else, other than the SPOOL directory? I find this annoying, since log files should never be "spooled", and it makes troubleshooting/cleaning the spool directory and the archiving of certain log files a true pain in the butt. "Relay for Addresses" is 100% identical to your existing "No Mail Relay" -- except that people coming from the IP addresses you specify aren't going to be require to use SMTP AUTH.
