The Registry is read from RAM, so it is faster than disk files. REG_MULTI_SZ values can be up to 1 MB of total length; if you had more than 1 MB of ASCII text for your host aliases, that's a major design flaw. The problems are indeed within Imail, but have nothing to do with Ipswitch's choice of the Registry. First, they don't give context-sensitive help regarding the text box; second, the length of the text box does not reflect their code accurately, as they are able to parse considerably more data when it is entered directly into actual data source. Are you still having problems, even with the 512-character upgrade? Sandy P.S. You'll come to find that this list is the major source of support for the product. You're welcome to vent, but remember that we're here to help (in the middle of the night, to boot) and don't work for Ipswitch. We wouldn't be on here giving out that help if we hadn't come to love Imail despite its weaknesses. Also, I think we'll all be more comfortable if you could sign off with a first name, even if it's a pseudonym :)).
