Please consider this friendly suggestion:

Bring up an SMTP Pre-processor.

I use Qmail. I hear tell Postfix is better, though... but with my Qmail
setup there are three files... one is rcpthosts which lists all the domains
it accepts mail for. There's a database called morecrpthosts.cdb if the
first text file gets too big. I have about 500 domains in my setup (too
many for the text file). So the 64 busiest are in the rcpthosts list and the
rest in morecrpthosts. I think the database is basically unlimited. I have
third file called smtproutes, which pairs up domains with where to route
them. So if a given customer uses 50 domain names for the same mail
server... say virtual1.com through virtual50.com all really go to
mail.realdomain.com the routing file might look like:

virtual1.com:mail.realdomain.com
virtual2.com:mail.realdomain.com
...
virtual50.com:mail.realdomain.com

Then on the Imail side, mail.realdomain.com needs no aliases.

Qmail and Postfix are both free...and they run like a scared French Skating
Judge on FreeBSD. The hardware is cheap...

so...if you got enough customers to need more than 25 aliases or the aliases
would fill up that Registry field... then I would assume you got the capital
coming in to front for a FreeBSD box and someone to set up Postfix or Qmail
on it.

Need I mention the great benefit of Len Conrad in this list? He's worked out
all the spins and jumps with his IMgate system for ya.

That's what I suggest....

Mike
