ok so its not supposed to answer or Refer. I C. the @K was supposed to be 2K as in Microsoft 2K DNS just a typo. The 2K DNS is just internal anyways so no big deal if its not working properly right now as long as the 2 bind machines are resolving DNS correctly.
On the Black list subject , I am not sure what put us on there.. Imail is set to local users only.. that's as tight as I can make it because customers had too much trouble with SMTP auth for some reason. I wish that one you use let you know the tests it did against my server to blacklist it. thanks Todd -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Len Conrad Sent: Friday, February 22, 2002 2:32 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] OT::Bint for NT >when I do an NS lookup don't use nslookup, use dig > against one of my name servers running Bind 8 for NT, >it returns the list of root servers instead of a non authorities answer... that's type of DNS response is called a referral, saying the server does have the answer in its cache or autoritative records, and won't look it up for you, so the "best answer" is go look it up yourself starting with the root-servers.net >when I do the same lookup against my @K DNS @K ?? > it returns the IP address and >states non authorities.
