Ahhh, sorry - have to open my eyes a little more... missed the following
lines in the log file (many lines between the first and theese one):
02:27 00:07 SMTP-(000001B4) 421 OURFIREWALLNAME Sorry, unable to contact
destination SMTP daemon.
02:27 00:07 SMTP-(000001B4) SMTP_DELIV_FAILED
02:27 00:07 SMTP-(000001B4) >QUIT

So it is our firewall that confuses the mailserver...

Thanx for your replies.

Best regards

What happens AFTER the "Connect" line?

That shows that IMail is actually connecting to the primary
mailserver. Something is happening after that -- is the E-mail being
delivered, does the primary say "554 - We don't accept mail
from anyone!",
is it timing out, etc.?

There is still no indication that IMail is doing anything
wrong; we need to
see what happens after that to know if IMail is handling the situation
appropriately.
