<.02> FAQs are a great source of information, but sometimes the subject matter is too vast to be contained in a single FAQ. How many Qs would be sufficient to cover the subject matter in this list alone??
I think it was Len that suggested the idea of Sub-Forums, where questions could be asked in an environment with acknowlegded experts in the subject matter and a general knowledge of other Sub-Forums in which to direct off-topic questions. Maybe these could be hosted on several machines (1 per topic/sub-forum) to spread the machine workload around. In addition, there are some topics that I would rather get a digest of, because I'm not having a problem in that area, but I don't want to miss anything juicy (sp?). Other topics I want to see all of the details (and hopefully contribute to when I learn enough myself). I can think of a few sub-forums to start with: Web Messaging DNS Security Lists Spam Newbies (or "I just installed/inherited IMail and I don't know where to go from here.") </.02> Todd -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Rod Dorman Sent: Tuesday, March 05, 2002 4:36 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] [ROUTING SPAM] Len Conrad wrote: > ... > So am convinced Imail doesn't need another compiliation of information, but > it needs Imail newbies, to first check the Imail u/g, the KB, and list > archives before asking this list the same old question for the 10,000th time. Granted that should be done, and 'How To Ask Questions The Smart Way' http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html should be required reading before submitting questions to this list. However I do believe a well written FAQ does have its merits. -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] "Hangers on though you be friends be more humble when asking for seconds."
