Thanks to whoever recommended TCPRelay a while back I have WebShield working the way it did when Imail was intalled on the same server. To trick it into working the same way with Imail on a separate server I set up a redirect on port 8525 of the WebShield computer to my new Imail server. It thinks it's on the same machine and it properly sends the bounce message. It's WebShield that's broke, but this workaround is fine for me at least until my McAfee contract runs out.
