Dear collegues,
I am using Imail happily for nearly 4,5 years, but
now is the time to make a major change to the IMAIL server.
When I started I used a internetfeed from a dutch
isp (WireHub! Internet: great network quality), but quite a while ago we were
intergrated in UPC, with their own ISP and backbone.
I have a lovely 2 x 622Mb feed to my network plus a
small STM1 feed over ATM, so it is not economic to keep using the (now
downgraded to 6Mb packetshaping) E3 link to WireHub!.
As we used a non-transferable IP network for our
servers (not having our own AS at the first creation of our network) we will
lose the present IP numbers for the mailservers.
I want to continue -for a while; say 6 mths- to
continue using the presen hardware, but on new IP addresses.
To change this in NT40 is no problem, but I suppose
I will also have to edit the registry to change the IP addresses for IMAIL
!
Has anyone of you lot tried this before; and can
you inform me about the do's and the dont's ?
I have a test-machine with Imail which I can use to
do a "dry run".
As there are appr. 200 maildomains running on this
box, with one domain (the main-domain) with 9980 mailboxes and the other domains
with 2 to 50 mailboxes for each domain I am not looking forward to export and
import all this domain by domain, and would prefer to manualy edit the registry
!! (After making a proper complete backup of the box !!)
Many thanks for your help !
