if you click the advanced button (by the checkbox "outgoing server requires
authentication") and put their username and password in there - you should
be all set - by default, outlook uses the same username and password as pop
account and norton changes that to the funky thing it uses to prescan your
mail..

Have a client that just purchased Norton Antivirus 2001. When ever they try
and set up Norton's email scan and have SMTP authorization enabled in
Outlook it will just keep asking for a password and username whenever they
need to send a message. If they disable Norton's email scan then SMTP
authorization works fine.

IMail version is 6.06

Right now I have them as a trusted ip address so they can send mail, but
this is not a permanent solution. Has anyone run into a similar problem?
