I  appreciate  your  reference  to  my  work  from a few weeks ago (at
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg51915.html)!
I  also  concur with all of your statements about M$ SMTP--it's a fine
MTA,  one  of their loss leaders that you can really take advantage of
with Imail as the core mailbox server.

Agreed  again. The only way you're gonna get CDO-like submission speed
is  by  using  queue  injection  on  Imail.  Now,  that's all well and
good--submission  speed  can  be evened out--but when it comes down to
it,  especially  on an otherwise unloaded server, MS SMTP is no slower
than  Imail's  current  sending  architecture.  It  "sux" to admit it,
though.
