I use NAVGW 2.5 and have relied upon it a few times to collect email when my Imail server is offline or down. NAVGW will hold and retry message for up to 5 days before returning the email to sender. The NAVGW machine holds the IP address for my email domain and accepts inbound mail. My Imail server has an IP address different from my and I have the NAVGW server forward the mail to Imail for delivery to the local mail boxes after scanning for viruses.
Feel free to email me directly at [EMAIL PROTECTED] for specific details if you need further information. My 2 cents worth is that I prefer Norton Anti-Virus Gateway to the other virus scanning software you hear about on this list. Easy to set up and easy to administer in my opinion. Does anyone know if there's a way to have NAVGW to store and forward e-mails in the event that the iMail server is offline?
