Did you try pinging by name or IP address?

Maybe your DNS cache was poisoned.

Len can give you more information on DNS poisoning.

Subject: [IMail Forum] DNS Issue???

Has anyone run into this ????.............The last 2 days I have
sporadically been unable to email a particular company. I can neither
send
them mail nor can I access their web-site. I also can't ping them. They
can
send us email. However, as soon as I flush the DNS cache on my DNS
servers
and reboot the imail server I am able to both send mail and access their
web-site. A check of the logs in the Imail\spool directory shows
nothing
(what I mean by nothing is the logs dont even show that the imail server
is
attempting to connect to the remote site to try and send mail. The
postmaster simply returns it as "undeliverable").

I have Imail configured not to relay mail for anyone.

Has anyone seen this and if so, do u have a fix?

TIA
