I read an article that some spam program's do not send a HELO or EHLO when
they send out spam e-mails.  The following outake came from and article in
Security Focus on hints to block spammer's:

"Some spam software does not send a HELO, and by using this option you may
successfully block such bone-headed software."

Do you have an example of what you are trying to eliminate. I can't see
IMail accepting any kind of email conversation other than HELO or EHLO on
the SMTP port
