And with regards to the web apps, imposing restrictions on the host names
is doubly unnecessary. It's trivial, using JavaScript, to read the
hostname from the URL (self.location.host or .hostname) and use that when
building links to/from Calendaring and SSL. We've been doing it with our
Classic and Killer templates for almost 2 years. As an example, go to:

  http://mybadassmail.killerwebmail.com/

and note that you can toggle to/from SSL and Calendaring just fine, even
though mybadassmail is most definitely not an official host name, or even
alias.
