15 minutes on the outside. What does take time is learning the tweaking of the weights and actions bassed on what You need, as everyone's needs are slightly different. There is no need to subscribe to and list like RBL or MAPS. Those tests are built in. >2) It says it "allows you to manage spam control on a user by user basis". >My question is - how? Must I use the on-host management agent that comes >with Imail? Or is there an executable that must be run on the server for >Declude? Or can I manage it through the web interface, the same as most >other server parameters? I don't want to roll this out and then have to run >around configuring hundreds of users individually - I want to either give >them the ability to turn it on or off themselves or delegate the task to the >individual email admin. The initial configuration is per server. All configurations are done through the .cfg files and not through the Imail Administration. After initial configuration, you can then set up per domain and such as you need/want to. >3) It says it doesn't really affect performance, and I believe that, but do >the extra checks it does significantly affect bandwidth, or message delivery >or receipt times? It takes Declude maybe 1/2 second to process and have not noticed any effect on band width as it is running the tests. When I send tests to my self, total turn around including Declude processing, Imail processing, Outlook processing is very quick, under a minute. >4) Can you see the declude service in the services list in imail, or is >there some other way to monitor whether it has crashed/is still up? >From the computer itself you can see the Declude Console up when logged on. It does not show up in Imail. Our experience is that once it is up and running, rarely will it have a problem. Problems all most always (98%) show up during a upgrade or other change. For support, you can not beat Declude. There is a separate list for Declude JunkMail and Declude Virus with a searchable archive. We have been extremely happy with Declude. Hope that helps.
