My favorite is to set up forwarding for every Imail user to the same [EMAIL PROTECTED] and add an entry for exchange.domainname.com in the HOSTS file on the Imail server pointing to the Exchange server.
Then also create an additional recipient policy on Exchange that will give every Exchange user an additional SMTP address ending with @exchange.domainname.com -----Original Message----- From: Ryan C. Eventually the IMail server won't be doing anything and you don't run the risks associated with importing external db's. Also, if you have a small IT dept. (or IT of one :-p ) you can do the conversion at your own pace instead of all at once. I'm currently doing this and will be leaving the students for next year and keeping IMail only for listservs. Ryan LaMarre - A+, Net+, MCP Computer Support Specialist Unity College Information Services 90 Quaker Hill Road Unity, ME 04988 (207) 948-3131 x298 [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Only the paranoid survive! -----Original Message----- From: Andrey Fyodorov [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, September 25, 2002 9:32 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] IMAIL TO EXCHANGE Yes it is possible. Exchange 5.5 supports directory import from a CSV file. Exchange 2000/Active Directory supports import from an LDF file or from CSV file. The trick would be to get your directory from Imail formatted correctly into a CSV file. As for migrating data, Outlook Express is your friend. Run Outlook Express and Outlook/Exchange simultaneously and use Export command in Outlook Express. All your data will be pumped into the mailbox that Outlook is holding open.
