Nice avoidance tactic! It's only a request for *additional* spamming tools in the sense that, since IMAILSRV doesn't feature double opt-in, the core product is a spamming tool. You must use Declude Confirm for opt-in, but this will only apply if you DO NOT allow people to sign others up without consent, since direct adding of users bypasses Confirm's checks. > This may explain the lack of responses to my forum request of two > days ago. No, it's just that we aren't in Ipswitch's development, so we don't know whether they're planning to reinstate this (apparently not!), and there's no third-party utility that's been made available to the public, AFAIK, though many people have their own tools. It's just VBS scripting, very simple, changes take effect live. Give it a shot and you'll have it in a jif. > I will clarify that we are not interested in populating a list with > users (Populating a list with users is just appending to a text file, which is VERY easy to implement, though very dangerous if not filtered as mentioned below.) > but only in creating an empty listserv from the command-line. Recommend you write me off-list if there's anything that doesn't make sense in your scripting travels, and that you make yourself and your users aware of the legal ramifications of such a system. The only legally safe non-consent situation would be one in which users added to a list are checked to make sure they are @ the administrator's same domain, something you would need to add to your control panel. -Sandy To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
